It was my first time there with parents after my graduation day - an Indian & Bangladeshi restaurant, suggested by my friend, studying in Prague.

Yes, they served halal food (beef, chicken, mutton etc) but don't be surprised to see 'alcohol' in the menu for drinks. I can say 98% restaurants in Czech served alcoholic drinks (even the one that serve halal food). It is different than in Malaysia where we have so many other choices of restaurants.
Just, order non-alcoholic drinks and say that you don't want any alcohol (best way is to say you are allergic) in the food either.

Review:
- Authentic taste of Indian food, simply delicious and suitable to our Asian tongue :)
- The food price is actually fair enough for large portions of food! We even take away left over food (like briyani and tandoori). Just if you think you can't finish the whole portion, simply share with friends or take away. Take away box is charged, so maybe you can save on that by bringing your own small food plastic container.
- Careful of the hotness of the food - like Phall and Jalfrasie dishes.
- There are many vegetarian dishes to choose if you would like to.
- Mineral water is obviously expensive. Bring your own water. 1L mineral water only cost 15kc in Tesco.
- Or maybe you can try mango lassi - a trademark of Indian restaurants there.
- Clean dining area, clean toilets.
- Excellent, friendly service and staffs. They even offer us any praying mat when we told them if it is possible to pray there. No prayer room but we just pray at the table, not many people around at that time.
- On the maps, the nearest tram stops are Letenské náměstí and Korunova?ní. We went there by Uber anyway, directly in front of the restaurant.

They Made It To The Top of Pet?ín Hill!

Finally :D
During their first trip to Czech in the middle of 2015, we ran out of time to explore Prague itself. Lol. I was so eager last time to take them to different cities in Europe and turned out I forgot to allocate more days to explore Prague itself. -__-'
But, alhamdulillah this time, more places checked!

Finally they managed to get to the top! The queue for the funicular was not that short but I was glad we had few unplanned hours to spend. :)
The day after my graduation day was when our Europe road trip started. We were expected to pick up our pre-booked rental car at about 3pm when unexpectedly it was delayed till 6pm.
Early morning that day, I took a tram from our Airbnb to the city center to get my degree's translation done, together with the other Malaysians. Since the scroll was very big, we need to make a notarized, smaller copy (A4) - and of course it costs money. Then, we left the smaller copy at the translation office.
Guess what, the translator was extremely old and we were told that he is currently the one and only official Latin to English translator in Czech! We kept praying that he will remain healthy as long as he can :)

Done with all procedures, I rushed back to the Airbnb to help with check out. With Uber, we took our luggages straight to car rental office and planned to store our luggage there for few hours while waiting for the car to be ready.
Things happened, plan changed.
So, the car will only be ready around 6pm.
What to do?

This lemonade was nicely done and delicious! Always ask about the ingredients if you come to Czech as they sometimes don't consider wine / beer as alcohol (as these are totally normal for them). Don't simply ask about alcohol okay?

After checking the car and set the navigation, we finally leave Prague for a transit in Hannover before our next destination, Hamburg, Germany. :)

Pet?ín - Scenic Viewpoint of Prague, Czech

I just went to Pet?ín hill last Thursday with another two backpackers whom I took around. Again. It is hard to say how many times I've been there. Countless. :D

Pet?ínské sady, is actually a hill reachable by funicular or you can do simple hiking to the top. Last time I walked up there, it took me about one hour plus minus, including time to fill your camera's memory card with gorgeous photos of Prague. No worries, take your time. There will be many people hike up the hill like you. Even, you can find people sit on the grass along the route to enjoy the view.
How to get to Pet?ínské sady?

The nearest tram stop is újezd. If you refer the above map, you can see 3 újezd tram stops. No worries, they are located close to each other. Even I am not familiar with each stops myself. You can take tram number 9, 12, 15, 20, 22, 57, 58, 59, 91 that will stop here. Depends on your previous location though.
Then, if you want to use funicular, you need a pass (the same pass you used for tram, metro and bus in Prague). I will try to make a blog post on how to buy it. -_-' Otherwise, just be fit and hike up okay?
Once you reach the top, you can watch beautiful scenery of flowers - depends on your luck as well. Hehe, sometimes it can be lavenders, tulips or roses. And it can also be nothing. :p
Walk around and you will find this big tower. Pet?ín Lookout Tower (Pet?ínská rozhledna). It is about 64 meters and said to be Eiffel-look-alike. Agree. It was built in 1891, about 100 years before I was born! Wow!

On the ground floor of the tower, there is a cafe and a gift shop (I don't recommend you to buy here, a bit expensive). Interesting part of this tower is, people who walk up the tower will not meet the people who go down, simply because there are 2 separate stairs. :D
It does not look that tall, but if you come here during windy weather - it will be challenging to your soul and mental. Haha. The tower will shake a bit, not that much.
Oh yea, you need to pay to go up. T_T

The name of this building is Tan?ící d?m, in English, it can be called as Dancing House. But, people used to refer it as Dancing Building. :)
If you come to Prague, you will realise how authentic and classical the buildings are. The city preserves almost all old and historic architectures - that make Prague to be awesome and interesting. However, you can still expect modern buildings here and there, but they will not make the city weird.
The position and style, are just...nice.

I haven't been up there, but it is said that you can take a rest at the cafe while enjoying the panoramic view from top of it. Of course, with a fee - about 100kc maybe. I prefer free panoramic view from Petrin Hill though. :) Hehe
Anyway, from the picture above, you can actually see a couple dancing together.
Use your imagination and please comment which one do you think is the man and which one is the woman :)
Oh yea, the nearest tram stop is Jiráskovo náměstí, reachable by tram 5 & 17. Meanwhile if you want to go here by metro, take Metro B (Yellow) and stop at Karlovo náměstí station. Otherwise, just walk from anywhere you are. Haha.

Trdelník ni sejenis pastry ataupun dessert yang boleh katakan famous kat Czech ni. Sebenarnya, korang boleh jumpa trdelník ni kat negara lain jugak - macam Austria, Slovakia, Jerman pun. :) Kat Malaysia pun dengarnya dah ada trdelník - kat Pavilion. Boleh try cari ea.
Apa yang sedapnya?
Nama pun dessert, majoriti orang akan kata sedap. Haha. Trdelník ni awalnya dulu banyak dijual masa Christmas Market je, terutamanya kat bandar saya ni. Macam sekarang, kalau nak makan trdelník, kena ke Prague. :D
Saya pernah berkongsi dalam beberapa post-post sebelum ni.
Sejak wujudnya trdelník versi yang berisi ice cream, semakin banyak stall trdelník kat Prague ni. Tapi diorang jual versi biasa, setakat ni versi yang berisi ice cream etc ni ada kat satu kedai je - Good Food namanya

Yang saya beli namanya Chimney Blizzard (with soft ice-cream) dan memang sedap ice cream nya :D Trdelník nya pulak hmmm kurang sedap sikit, mungkin sebab kembang sikit dek ice cream. Tapi, overall saya boleh bagi 8/10 :D
Untuk yang suka whipped cream, boleh try Chimney Cream.
Chimney Twister tu nampak unik sangat, cuma takleh makan sebab ada ham dalamnya. Tak dapat nak imagine something sweet macam ni makan dengan ham. -_-' Haha

Ada satu masa dulu, trdelník yang paling up ialah berperisa nutella. Fuh, memang excited dibuatnya untuk peminat Nutella. Sampaikan ada yang siap bawak nutella sendiri, pastu tambah extra kat trdelník sebab rasa tak cukup. :)
Boleh la try letak ice cream sendiri jugak. Hihi. Tambah 50kc untuk ice cream tu, dah boleh beli ice cream Tesco bekas yang besar sebenarnya.
Zaman sekarang ni - style tu yang orang tengok kannn....
Tapi, sekali sekala okay je. Bukan selalu pun kannnnn. Sila sila :D

Kalau korang berjalan ke Prague, boleh ke kedai ni yea. Alamat ada dalam gambar kat atas. Basically landmark nya ialah kedai ni sangat dekat dengan Charles Bridge (Karluv most). Letaknya antara Charles Bridge dengan Old Town.

Korean Age vs American Age?

Reunion with Eun Hui after 7 years!
And I didn't expect our friendship still going well after long years of not seeing each other. We first met in middle of 2008, then lost contact, then met again on Facebook and started to keep in touch at least once in two months since then :)
First thing I must say.

And there you go! We met, finally!
Lots of updates to catch up. Well~ we are still on our way to be friends from acquaintances (kenalan). :) We talked about many things and it was awesome to exchange experiences. And she became my 2nd inspired person of solo travelling after a lovely girl I met, Izzah.

Let me share with you something. For our general knowledge.
And maybe exciting one for Korean stuffs lovers. Tehee. :)
Korean age vs American age.
Koreans believe that a baby is already 1 year old when he/she is delivered.*point number 1* (maybe they respect the gestation age) :) And regardless of your birthday, on New Year, you will turn one year older. *point number 2* Meanwhile, American age depends on your birthday. When you are born, your age will be counted as days and months until you have your first birthday.
Let me give example (if I'm not mistaken) :)
I was born on 15th August 1991.
In Korean age, I was 1 year old when I was born, and I am one year older since last 1st January 2015 - that's mean - today I am now 25 years old. While in American age, I am still 23 years old. And on 15th August 2015 - I will be 24 years old. :)
Ouch, 24? I feel old now. T__T
Easier way to calculate your Korean age
2015 - 1991(year you are born) + 1 = 25
But, imagine a baby born on 31st December 2014. He was already 1 year old on the day he was born. Then, the next day on New Year (1st January 2015), he gets 1 year older - in which in Korean age, he is already 2 years old, while he is only 1 day old in American age.
That's so...unique!
I think this topic came out when I told her about my classmates. Some of them are already 30 years old and some are just passing 20 years old. Still, we mingled together without having to care about the age gaps. We just called each other with names - no brother, no sister, no sunbae, no dongsaeng. Yea, I know people in Korea, when they talk to someone older (even though only 1 year apart), they use term hyung, oppa, noona, unnie. Similar like Malaysia too, right? Abang, kakak senior?
It's culture :)
And that makes a community more special.
I respect it by still calling my Malaysians seniors with Kak. Except who refused that. ^_^

[Behind The Scene] Astronomical Clock Prague; Czech

Before I continue with the stories / facts behind this famous astronomical clock, let me show you how busy or packed this area will be at every hour. I mean it, every hour, EVERY, everyday. (or maybe not really at midnight - I haven't been there for that specific time) :)
This was somewhere in September 2014, I guess; where autumn is one of the nicest time to visit Prague. Full of brown, orange leaves getting ready to fall off. Even the weather is nice with not really high temperature nor low.
Let me introduce the history of this clock.
1. As maybe many of us know, this is one of the oldest astronomical clock in the world, being installed there since 1410 (like middle ages time). It is placed near Old Town Square (which is significant area for European countries). And it is still functioning till now! :D
Basically, it had been repaired so many times and some things were added to the tower (in which THAT attract people to see it)
So, what makes it famous?
Of course, the mechanism of the clock - but it is hard for me to understand all astronomical terms or theories. So, can we skip it? Teheee
Other than that, for sure THESE ANIMATED FIGURES:-

Start with the left one - the first is; we can see a figure admiring himself in a mirror. That represent Vanity. Beside it; a figure holding a bag of gold; that represent Greed. :p

Let's move to the right side. The 3rd figure is the skeleton which obviously stands for Death. The last one figure playing instrument; it was said to be a Turk - represent Pleasure and Entertainment.
At every hour, the skeleton rings the bell while the other figures shake their heads side to side. Means? They are not ready "to go" (to die).

Okay, I have share 4 figures at both sides of the clock. What about in the middle?
Of course there are some more! 12 moving figures (that are presentation of statues of Apostles) - that twelve Apostles presented every hour.

Honestly, I am not a city/town traveler type. I enjoy nature more than watching/understanding the buildings. But, who said we can not learn anything from historical building?

1. Vanity; feel like we are the best compared to other people. In which sometimes make us become more egoistic, not to listen to other people's advice.
2. Greed; yeah, feel greed to have everything good at one time. Don't worry much, do things one step at a time okay?
3. Entertainment; addicted to all those fun stuffs, entertainment most probably will lead us far away from Allah. And we don't feel excited to do religious things. Sobss T__T
But, at the nearest end, they are not permanent while we will return to the Creator by dying. Right? Have we prepare ourselves? Gulppp.

Christmas Market in Prague, Czech

December in Europe, as we all know is synonym with Christmas markets. In Czech, it is called váno?ní trhy (vaa-noc-nii ter-hi). Maybe not all European countries hold this Christmas market, but it is more famous in Germany especially Nuremberg, Dresden, Frankfurt etc. Actually, I was planning to go to Dresden (since it is the closest to Prague) to experience the market there, but because of the demonstration, it was better not to go :)
So, what can you expect from Christmas Market in Prague, Czech?
First of all, huge beautiful Christmas trees, like mostly everywhere. Like the one down here, it may be more than 15 meters. Maybe.
There will be so many tourists!
That time, I was looking forward to meet some Malaysians but, I guess I can't find any. I just met a group of Singaporeans when we were buying something from the stall there. The reason I want to meet some, maybe because I really would love to help them asking for lower prices or maybe having conversation while suggesting few other places to go.
By the way, that stall is managed by a Turkish guy and he gave us discounts (which is not so common to get discounts after bargaining here in Czech :p) But, I can say that if you know basic Czech language or you can say few words prettily good, Czech people will be amazed with you. And then you can ask for discounts :) It works for me, few times before! Yeay!
Aha, basically at the market, you can find lots of Christmas products; ornaments and decorations. Hmm, of course traditional Czech wooden toys, cookies, crafts, handmade soaps, scented candles, souvenirs (snow globes, key chains, fridge magnets etc). What else?
FOOD!
The famous one, for sure trdelnik, lango?, pirohy (dumplings), varieties of nuts (chestnut, caramelized chasew nuts, almond), spring potatoes, parek (bun with hotdog) etc and since this is Czech, there are hot wine, honey liquor (called medovina). Well, this country is well known for it's beer / alcohol. (I know I mentioned this few times in previous posts :p)

Actually, I was more excited to go ice skating there, but I don't know why I can't find the ice rink. It was normally located in front of Karolinum - official hall for the university for matriculation day or graduation day. It was just not there T___T
The most famous place to go in Prague - Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí); significant for the astronomical clock which can gather thousand people every hour. :p Basically, at every hour (when the long needle meet number 12), there will be 4 moving figures at the clock and that are what tourists want to see. I will share more details about the clock next time, okay? :)
Before I forget, please take care of your bags and valuable things. There will be so many people you will meet and even the night I went there, my friend's bag was opened by someone. Fortunately, he/she didn't managed to take anything. Pheww.

Trigames ; is one of the way to gather all Malaysian students here in Czech. It used to be iGames, which means inter-varsity games between 3 localities where Malaysian students are studying. Prague, Hradec Kralove and Olomouc. But iGames was ended last year. Due to decreasing number of students in Czech (most students had graduated), the concept was changed to Trigames.
Trigames.
3 major games; competed by 3 teams - combination of all students in whole Czech. The names of the teams was very unique and medical :D

Anasarca (Yellow/Orange)Generalised edema - what is that? Basically, it occurs when fluid in vessels get into tissues and cause them to swell.
Beri-beri (Red)It occurs to patients with deficiency of Vitamin B (thiamine). There are two types of beri beri. Wet type - it can affect the heart function leading to heart failure. While dry type - can affect nerves and lead to paralysis.
Cirrhosis (Blue)Liver cirrhosis is the most common one in Czech, I guess. Hmm at least the most patient I've met. Basically, cirrhosis is the scaring of liver tissues after being injured - in Czech case - due to alcohol.
Enough of the introduction. :D
I was in Anasarca team. We didn't win the whole games, but I guess, I got what I expected from this Trigames.
Unity.
Yes, eventhough I've been to all iGames for the past 3 years, I can still feel a lot of gaps between localities. I felt so awkward to have conversation with people I don't really close to. Hmm, maybe still at the time being. But, still, I managed to chat with people I've never greet before. I managed to know more students that I've never seen (or maybe I don't realised) before.
Even we just had the time to plan our strategies on the day of games - it was just nice; not to have so much winning desire but more to be playful :D
Oh, I forgot to mention which games were included in this Trigames.
Basketball
Futsal
Volleyball.
Among these three, I only have confident with volleyball. It is not that I am an expert in it. But, I love volleyball so much and I have some knowledge about the rules and tricks. Hihi :)
I did participate in basketball though. Just mentioning again, I already know I don't really like games with many body contact, so I found it hard to play basketball with so many rough moves and attacks from the opponents. And yet, it was the one which cause me to sweat a lot. Haha. Great! No need to do work-out that day.
Most of times, we just play other games too - like dodgeball and renovated netball. :D

I love not to have the impression of 'bla bla Olomouc' or "bla bla bla Hradec or Prague" etc. :)
